Open Inventory Control Positions

JOB TITLE: Inventory Staff Accountant
REPORTS TO: Controller
DEPARTMENT: Inventory Control

Reports to our Controller but will also work closely with our Vice President of Operations.

The key contact person for all operational inventory related matters.  Directly manages all inventory functions.  Maintains the company's operating procedures regarding inventory control and implements improvements where needed.

You will spot inefficiencies and resolve issues.  This position offers a significant growth opportunity.  The opportunity will lead to an expanded role within Allen Brothers which will be critical to the overall success of our operation.

Initially, you will oversee the company's inventory positions, organize our inventory, and execute necessary adjustments.  This position takes the lead on all physical inventories and ensures that proper preparation is taken to accomplish this.


  • Conduct inventory analysis.

  • General banking and accounting activities.

  • Implement new systems while working with new technology and upgrades to current systems.

  • Manage inventory in conjunction with purchasing.

  • Schedule daily cycle counting using WMS.

  • Communicate with operations, the purchasing department, and our controller on inventory related matters.

  • Eliminate obsolete items from inventory.

  • Supervise rack configurations effectively and maintain accuracy of all bin locations.

  • Coordinate proper product rotation with the warehouse manager.

  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, outbound delivery shortages and inventory adjustments.

  • Learn and effectively manage the Tax Right/Pick Right system used to control tax stamps and the generation of usage reports.

  • Engage in the research of product returns and credits.

  • Reconcile month end inventory by location and solve variances.


  • Ability to maintain our inventory database and work with our cycle count system.

  • Understanding of accounting and finance processes.

  • Capable of calculating figures and comprehending velocity/movement reports.

  • Strong interpersonal skills in order to effectively communicate with various departments which include operations, purchasing, accounting, etc.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.


  • Must have a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a similar industry in a similar function.

  • Needs strong computer skills and the ability to navigate databases.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Ability to run reports, create formulas, and spreadsheets.
