JOB TITLE:                Customer Service Representative

REPORTS TO:           Director of Operations

DEPARTMENT:         Customer Service

JOB SUMMARY

Maintain positive work atmosphere by communicating and behaving in a manner that is agreeable for customers, clients, coworkers and management while performing the essential functions of the job.  Resolve inbound customer inquiries and concerns while maintaining the highest level of customer service standards for quality.  The nature of which includes, but is not limited to, such issues as: product inquiries, company delivery policies, pricing and credit processing.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answer incoming calls and general requests within established guidelines
  • Data entry of customer orders into computer
  • Communicate with operations department to process orders and meet delivery schedule
  • Perform routine clerical procedures in support of the customer service department
  • Maintain familiarity of product line and awareness of new products available
  • Provide answers to customer questions or refer calls to appropriate staff

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Knowledge:

Good technical skills with the ability to investigate with problem resolution.  Well developed people-handling skills and ability to communicate information accurately.

 

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent telephone skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to deal effectively with people and maintain a positive attitude
  • Strong computer and typing skills
  • Strong organizational skills

The knowledge and skills previously identified are typically acquired through a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1 – 3 years of experience in a customer service department.
